• Chinese silver fox skins are all wild skins. No farmed silver foxs are available in China.
• Since all silver fox skins are coming from hunters, it needs high carefulness to control the quality during collecting and tanning.
• Our silver fox skins are collected from November to March of the next year to enable our skins are of winter seasons.
• We collect skins in Shandong province and Dongbei region where there are lots of mountains in these 2 regions.
• Silver fox skins from Dongbei region are always much heavier than Shandong origin. Most of Dongbei skins are used for making trimmings and most of Shandong skins are for making collars.
• One important thing about Chinese silver fox skins is that they are always smaller than European silver fox skin from Finland and Denmark. How ever, compared to its cost, the skins are always marketable. In addition, higher quality Chinese silver fox skins are as good as European skins also.
• It is also important to be clear about the difference among silver fox skins, silver-blue fox skins, frost silver fox skins and shadow silver fox skins. To choose the correct color is always important for customers.

Color: Natural silver

• As mentioned above, the best color of silver fox skins should be natural shining silver with white fur tips as photos shown below.

• The difference between Dongbei skins and Shandong skins relys on its fur heaviness not the colors.

Size:

• Because of the character of wild skins, there is a big difference in silver fox skin sizes and the general size of Chinese silver fox skins are smaller than blue/white fox.
• Also, it is important to know whether the silver fox skins are stretched or not stretched before talking about the sizes.
• We measure the silver fox skins from ear to ramp instead of from nose to ramp.

• We offer stretched and not stretched skins at the same time and each of them can be divided into 3 categories in form of sizes.

1. Original skins: 60 cm - 70 cm, 70 cm - 80 cm and 80 cm - 90 cm
2. Stretched skins: 70 cm - 80 cm, 80 cm - 90 cm, 90 cm - 100 cm

• Detailed information about size is as below:

• Normally, after stretching, the length of skins will become 10 cm longer than before that.
• It is very important to know the difference before and after stretching.

• Stretched skins always have bigger size than the original skins. That is why some supplier will always supply larger skins. How ever, skins after stretching will become not elastic. Fur heaviness will also become lower.
